McMinn County Juvenile Detention Information

McMinn County does not have a long term rehabilitative or detention center for juveniles, and all juvenile services offered or required through the court or other agencies are provided by the Juvenile Services Department. The focus is to provide both preventative and rehabilitative services and support both the youth and the family by providing guidance and assisting with preserving families. Offered programs include crisis interventions, counseling, probation services, and assistance for youth who are attending court, administer court orders, investigate issues before a sentence is provided, and provide supervision for probation as well as community service hours, and they provide presentation and interactions of a preventative nature to reduce the number of youth who are found in detention facilities. Addressing the entire family allows for improved family reunification and helps both parents and juvenile to learn how to make better decisions and support positive interactions, while also reducing recidivism into adulthood. All services are provided as needed, and counseling may include individual sessions, group sessions, and family sessions depending upon the need of the youth and the family as a whole. Address: 9 East Madison Avenue Courthouse Annex Building Athens, TN 37303 Phones: Juveniles will have access to phones to contact their parents or guardians regularly.
