Offering a safe and secure center for youth who are aged 12 to 18 years, the Bradley County Juvenile Detention serves the entire county and all of its communities. Juveniles are housed at the location when they are in need of emergency detention or housing, if they are being held for a court date after a history of failing to appear, if they are waiting for their adjudication or they are serving a term of detention after their court dates. Teachers are present during the school hours on weekdays to ensure that they are continuing their education equally to the public schools, and they are also offered other learning opportunities. All meals are focused on nutrition as well as being appealing to the youth so they are eating their meals and snacks, and each of the housing units will eat together. During spare time they may work on homework, play games, and socialize with other detainees, as well as write letters and call their parents or guardians.
