The staff at the jail consist of correctional officers who are in charge of safety and security, those who clean the jail, and those who are providing food or commissary services, as well as medical and mental health care workers. This detention center is a full service center which not only accommodates both male and female adult inmates, but also juveniles. It was completed and opened in 2008, replacing the old jail that was finished in 1933 as an expansion to the cells that are located within the basement of the courthouse.
