About the Davison County Jail
Located on a barren stretch of land and surrounded by concrete parking lots, the Davison County Public Safety Center is the home of the local jail. It is operated by the local sheriff, and just one of the many services that are provided and overseen by the sheriff’s office. An advanced security system is in place with videos that lead to the main control room, where each part of the facility can be monitored. When a main control room is present it is the hub for all safety measures, can control the cells and doors, and allow or block access as needed. While inmates are housed in the facility, either directly after they have been arrested and are being processed, while they are awaiting their trial or their sentencing, or while they are serving their sentence, inmates will have access to medical and mental health care as well as communication with their friends and family who are not incarcerated. Inmates have access to a telephone from 6:30am until 10:30pm and may use them when they have time in the dayroom or are not attending their other responsibilities. Incoming calls to inmates are not accepted and no messages will be passed from the staff to inmates. Visitation is encouraged and can assist in helping inmates to maintain their support system, improving their chance of success after release and helping to maintain their mental health during incarceration. Visiting hours are Tuesdays 7pm-9pm, Wednesday 1pm-3pm, Saturday 1pm to 3pm and Sunday 1pm to 3pm only. Visits are a half hour in length and two visitors are permitted at one time, they are no contact visits but are in person. To offer additional support to an inmate, friends and family can deposit money to their account for their use while they are incarcerated at smardeposit.com.
