About the Dillon County Detention Center

Located directly next to the Dillon County Judicial Center, the Dillon County Detention Center is the housing location for all inmates who are arrested in the county on either misdemeanor or felony charges and will maintain their residence as they wait for their trial and as they serve a sentence, most being under one year.  

The jail falls under the umbrella of the Sheriff’s Department and their staff, and has over 30 dedicated detention ofiicers to meet the needs of the inmates, even at full capacity of 200.

Contact with the facility directly can be made by calling 843-774-1435 or emailing them, and they will be able to provide information on whether an offender is present, if they have been booked, if they have bail set, and how to both pay bail and book a visit.

Medical and mental health care are both provided according to local laws and there is both indoor recreation areas as well as a large outdoor yard with high fences for access to outdoor recreation and exercise.

Any mail that is sent to the jail will be opened by jail staff and inspected with all contraband being removed, any money and money orders being added to the inmate account for their purchases and fees, and then it will be delivered to the inmate.

Phones are present and outgoing calls can be accessed each day, with calls being collect or prepaid through their commissary purchase.

Visits may be scheduled through communication between the visitor, inmate, and staff. No visiting schedules are posted for the privacy and safety of the facility, with only approved visitors being provided that information.
