About the Bamberg County Detention Center
Within Bamberg County the Detention Center is the main holding and processing facility within the county. It serves many law enforcement agencies to assist in their enforcement services. The local police, sheriff, state police, conservation officers, and federal authorities all use this facility to hold their detainees while they are within the county. Both male and female offenders are housed in the facility but it is an adult only facility. To make the stay a bit easier, inmates are encouraged to maintain outside relationships with their friends and family throughout their incarceration, to use the commissary to buy necessary supplies, and to find their place within the community until they are released. Visits are permitted for male inmates on Saturday and Sunday from 1pm to 4pm, and for female inmates on the same days from 10am until 12pm. The Bamberg County Detention Center allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as AmazonBarnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
