About the Wyoming County Correctional Facility

Wyoming County Correctional Facility is located in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania. It supports the booking, pretrial and post trial detainment of offenders who are arrested within the city as well as throughout the county. Inmates who are housed here are either waiting for trial, currently in trial, or have already been sentenced and will remain in this facility until their sentence has been completed.

To provide the best results and to reduce the recidivism of offenders, several programs are offered to improve education, encourage recreation, address religious requirements and growth, offer work programs to improve skills and employability while also allowing for inmates included to have a purpose to each day, and health services to provide for the health of all during their incarceration.

Medical needs are provided for, including doctor visits, optometrist appointments, dental appointments, and prescriptions, as well as access to a nurse as required. There are programs to help with behavioral concerns which may be included within the sentencing, a GED program, religious supports, and tutors and interpreters to support literacy.

Additionally, to encourage healthy relationships outside of the facility and to ease the transition back to society, inmates are permitted unlimited letters through the US Postal Service, which will be checked for contraband, with mail being sent to:

Regular access to phone calls is also provided, where they will have access to phones from 10am until 2:25 pm, 4:15pm to 10:25pm, and funds can be added to this account through securustech.net. Visits are also encouraged and are scheduled based upon each housing assignment. By block visiting hours are: Alpha on Monday from 9-11am and Thursday 6-8pm, Bravo on Tuesday 1-3pm and Friday 6-8pm, Charlie on Tuesday 6-8pm and Friday 1-3pm, Delta on Monday 6-8pm and Thursday 9-11am, and Echo on Saturdays 9-11am and Sunday 6-9pm.
