About the Lebanon County Correctional Facility

The Lebanon County Correctional Facility is located at 730 E. Walnut Street in Lebanon, PA 17042. You can reach them between the hours of 8:30AM and 4:30PM, seven days a week by calling 717-274-5451. You will need to call this number to get their specific 60 minute visitation period each week, as well as their Personal Inmate Number (PIN) so that you can send them money, arrange an online remote visit or send them mail or a publication through the US Mail system.

The Lebanon County Correctional Facility has a rated capacity of 645 beds, 434 of these in dorms and 211 in cells for maximum security inmates. Post COVID the actual inmate population has been down but it is slowly getting back to its historic level of 80-85% capacity.  A certain percentage of inmates at the facility are work release inmates, meaning they can leave the jail during the day to work, and then return at night. Work Release inmates must turn over 20% of their gross pay to the county for this privilege.

Unlike most county jails in the United States that house inmates for one year or less, the Lebanon County Correctional Facility houses inmates that have been sentenced for up to five years, less one day. The facility is also used as a 'community treatment center' (aka halfway house) for inmates that have recently been released from the Federal Bureau of Prisons and are staying here prior to returning home.  These inmates also are treated similarly to the work release inmates and must turn over a portion of their wages to the facility.

The Lebanon County Correctional Facility has a number of rehabilitative programs, specifically an excellent Drug and Alcohol Program, including regular NA and AA meetings, and an educational program is available to all inmates to aid them in their return to society as productive citizens. Jubilee Ministries provides religious programs for inmates, as well as counseling for the inmate and his or her family.

To stay in contact with their friends and family during their incarceration inmates are able to send and receive mail through the USA postal service, can make phone calls but are unable to receive them, and can have visits. Upon their assignment to their cell and housing unit each inmate will create a list of up to ten people they wish to be able to call, and people they will have visits from. Each of these must have the full name, birthdate, and contact information for every person on the list. Once they have been approved, they will be able to call during the daytime hours, and access messaging, as well as book a weekly visit with up to three people (at one time) who are on the list. When scheduling a visit, the visiting hours are from 8:15 am until 4 pm beginning Tuesdays and running through Sundays, with no visits available on Mondays.

Mail can be received every day and is processed and passed to the inmates quickly, however the jail uses a digital service to avoid contraband entering the facility. The original letter will be scanned and then destroyed. Friends and family of inmates in the Lebanon County Correctional Facility can arrange to visit inmates by video, both at the jail and remotely from home. Friends and family can also communicate using an online text/email system, send them money and buy them commissary online, and set up a phone account that allows the inmates to call them during the day and evening seven days a week.

All the information on these inmate services can be found in the sections below.  If you still have questions, you can phone the jail 24 hours a day by calling 717-274-5451 or read the Lebanon County Correctional Facility Inmate Handbook.
