Dauphin County Juvenile Detention Information

Offering a medium level security, the Dauphin County Juvenile Detention Center houses the juveniles in the county and surrounding communities that are being held on charges of delinquency, waiting for their trial, waiting for adjudication, or they are assigned to detention at their adjudication. It is a short term facility and offers no long term housing solutions. To maintain education there is a partnership with the local schoolboard that provides classes within the facility in the classrooms provided, and this allows for access to computers and an onsite library that has both academic resources and recreational reading material. Mental health professionals offer counseling and therapy to provide residents with the best chance of success for their future, address any addictions that are present, and help with substance use. Group and individual activities along with the strict schedule encourage the development of responsibility, accountability, and discipline. Mail: 911 Gibson Blvd., Steelton Pennsylvania 17113 Phones: Phone calls are permitted but only outgoing, and the numbers that the juveniles call must be approved by the facility or the court before it may be reached.
