Located in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, the Adams County Jail houses both male and female inmates with a total capacity of just over 200 inmates while providing all services for them including meal service, medical care with a nurse on staff and doctors available, mental health, GED classes, and more.
The facility is operated by the local sheriff’s office and falls under the supervision of the sheriff. To locate an inmate the online search function is the fastest way to determine which facility they are being held at, or the jail may be contacted directly. Those who are arrested on misdemeanors may be released without bail and find themselves released quickly, others will see a judge within the first 24 hours and be assigned bail or held without.
Mail can be sent to and from inmates via the US postal system and must be correctly addressed to the inmate care of the jail with the full return address of the sender as well.
To add funds to the account of an inmate there is a kiosk in the lobby of the jail, as well as online access allowing them to make purchases through the commissary and fun their phone calls.
Phone calls are allowed to friends and family who are on the approved list provided by the inmate.
