The Multnomah County Juvenile Detention Center, named the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Home, houses the juveniles who are determined to require detention only if the offense is serious enough, if they have an ongoing history of criminal offenses, if they have previously failed to attend court dates, or if they are providing a threat to others or a danger to themselves.
