Josephine County Juvenile Detention Center Josephine County has access to an around the clock juvenile detention center located in Grants Pass, where all juvenile offenders are housed while they are awaiting their court date, have been adjudicated to a term of detention, or are undergoing treatments. The facility is broken into 25 bed dorms for each housing unit, with a common area or dayroom. These units operate as a group, with treatments, education, meals, and activities occurring for each group together, but not always with the other units. Teachers are present during the weekdays to complete their education at the same pace as the local schools, ensuring they are able to maintain grades and return to their original school. Medical staff are available for all necessary medical treatment, including providing any prescription medications, treating any injury, and caring for illness. Mental health is cared for by professionals who attend the facility regularly, including group and individual treatments and counseling. Families are permitted to visit both online and in person, once they have been approved by the staff.
