With a capacity of 10, the Woodward County Juvenile Detention Center accepts students who are in grades 7 through 12. They are provided with a full range of academic education that is based upon the curriculum of the local public school. Classrooms are provided within the facility to accommodate studies and to complete homework and other assigned tasks. Each student will be expected to attend class every weekday, and a strict schedule is maintained throughout the day. Having a schedule will encourage discipline, responsibility, forming healthy habits, and learning to create a daily routine. It also improves the ability of the staff to maintain the security of the facility and the safety of students and staff. Along with educational services, each resident is also provided with healthy meals and snacks, medical care for ongoing health concerns or illness and injury that occur within the facility. Mental health care is also provided, and students may receive counseling as needed to improve their life skills and coping skills, as well as helping to address trauma and encourage personal growth.
