Oklahoma County Juvenile Detention Facility Information

Working with the state, county, and municipal law enforcement agencies, the Oklahoma County Juvenile Detention Center admits youth who are under the age of 18 years old who have been arrested or accused of violating the law. They will be housed at the location until they have their court date to determine if they will remain in detention or be released pending trial, or if they are sentenced to a term of detention. There is a top capacity of 80 juveniles, both male and females, and these are sectioned into 7 separate living units and it covers 30,000 square feet. It is operational around the clock and is not closed any day of the year, accepting juveniles at any time that is necessary. A dining room serves healthy meals that are made in the commercial kitchen onsite, and snacks are provided to each housing unit in the evening. One doctor and three nurses are on staff to provide all required medical care and an assessment upon their arrival. For 4 hours of each weekday during the school year students will attend alternative educational opportunites within the facility to ensure they are continuing their academic education. Mail: 5905 N Classen Court, Oklahoma City, OK 73118 Mail is delivered by the postal service each day of the week and may be inspected before final delivery to remove any contraband and monitor conversations which may be a security risk for the facility. Phones: Juveniles may call their parents or guardians only, and phones are provided throughout the week for that purpose, however they are unable to accept incoming calls. Visitation: 30 minute visits are provided for parents on the weekends with the hours being Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To book a visit parents must call 405-713-6491 during the week. The D unit has visits on Tuesday from 6:30pm until 9pm.

The Oklahoma County Juvenile Detention Facility allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as AmazonBarnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
