It accepts both male and female inmates shortly after their arrest and holds them until their preliminary appearance and until either bail is paid or they are finished their trial. Some sentences are also served in this location.
The current location opened in 1994, when it was moved from the downtown location that had capacity for only 39 male inmates and no female or juveniles for even short times.
For inmates to give back to their community the work release and worker positions are available to allow them to work inside the jail doing cleaning, food service, and more, or to work in the community at non profits and other jobs.
In order to assist in a successful release and reintegration there are other programs offered. The GED program allows inmates to have a high school education, drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs assist anyone with addictions or substance abuse problems, and other address other concerns that inmate have.
Meals are served three times each day via contract with a local food service, and inmates can be assigned to help with preparing these meals. There is also a contracted health team that places nurses at the jail every day of the week and offers access to doctors as required.
Visits are encouraged and can be completed via video onsite or from home. Visitation can be booked at www.homewav.com or by calling 844-394-6639 and visitation hours are from 7:30am until 10:30pm each day for offsite visits, and 8am-10pm each day for other video visits.

How does the Inmate Know I am Logged in and Ready to Visit?
1. Make sure there are funds in your account and that you are marked as “appear online”.
2. The moment you log in, the HomeWAV screen at the facility will light up green and display the inmates name. This informs the inmate that they have a visitor that is now logged on.
3. Once the inmate sees the notification, he or she will initiate the call.
4. When the inmate initiates the call, a ringing sound will take place and a pop-up box will appear, asking you if you want to accept the call.
