About the Logan County Jail

The updated and redesigned Logan County Jail was opened near the end of 2000, and is an $8.5 million facility that is able to hold up to 140 detainees at one time. It replaced the facility that was built in 1983 and was 16,000 square feet. the old one housed 34 inmates at a time and was the replacement for the original detention center from 1845. The original jail held 17 people and spanned two floors.

These transitions over the years have allowed the jail to keep up with the demands and requirements of the local population and provide a safe and reliable space for those who are awaiting trial, have been arrested and are being booked, as well as those who are serving a sentence after their trial.

In order to help improve the lives of those within its walls and help to support a healthy and productive life after their release there are several programs offered at the facility. GED classes provide a high school education, mental health services are offered to those who need it, and addictions counselling is available for those who are struggling with substance abuse.

Visitors from friends and family are also encouraged to maintain links to what their lives will be when they are released. Visiting hours are Tuesday 7-8:30pm, Thursday 9-10:30pm, and Sundays from 1:30-3pm.

Inmate Money Accounts

How Do You Deposit Money for an Inmate in the Logan County Jail?

There are FOUR options for putting money on an inmate's books:

Option 1 - Dropping Money at the Jail
Bring money to the jail in person.
Either the jail personnel will process the Inmate Account payment or you will use a Jail ATM self-serve kiosk in the lobbies that accepts cash, debit or credit cards.

Option 2 - Deposit Inmate Money Online
Logan County Jail uses Jail ATM to process all online deposits to an inmate's account. The company charges you a small fee for doing so, but the fee probably isn't as much as gas and parking would cost to take it to the jail in person.

Option 3 - Mail the Inmate Deposit to the Jail
Mailing a deposit takes more time to process than the other methods but can be done if you live too far away to bring it in person and you don't have a debit/credit card for online deposits. Never send cash. Always send a Money Order from the US Post Office, a reputable bank or Western Union. Call the Logan County Jail first as they may want you to do this online or at the jail kiosk instead.
Make the Money Order out to the inmate's name and put their Inmate ID# in memo section of the Money Order.
