This small jail differs from many others in that it houses inmates who are attending hearings at any of the court systems. Juvenile Court, Municipal Court, and Court of Common Pleas all use this jail for holding inmates temporarily.
Most often, juveniles are not housed in the same facilities as the adult inmates, however this facility has been adapted to fit the needs of the local courthouse.
Visitation is allowed three days a week and all visitors must be registered two days before the visit and bring identification with them to be admitted. Sundays from 1 until 4 pm, Wednesdays from 6 until 9 pm, and Fridays 9:30 an until noon. Any visitors who are minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Two visits are allowed each week, and they are half hour visits.
Several programs are run in the building including AA, church services, bible studies, work release, counseling for mental health or drug and alcohol, GED and leisure activities.
