Sargus Juvenile Center Information

Operating as the main juvenile detention center for several towns and the immediate surrounding area, Sargus Juvenile Center not only houses those who are awaiting trial or serving sentences, but also those who have been removed from the home for their own safety or the safety of others, as well as if they have no other form of shelter. Their goal is to offer protection, security, and a safe space for all who are in their center. Visitation and phone calls are allowed during the scheduled hours for such. Programs are in place to support the education of each of the juveniles that are present, and to ensure they are receiving time for both exercise and relaxation. The support within the building is intended to support the health and safety of each of the youth and help prepare them for a future that will not see them returning. Several programs are offered to improve skills and knowledge, while also supporting good mental health. The space has an average of 12 people each day, and the staff provide strong supports for them. Each is held accountable for their own actions while also learning how to make better choices in the future.
