INTERESTING FACTS about the Graham County Jail: The jail is located on the first floor of the of the courthouse and is approximately 2900 SF. and accommodates about (8) male detainees. All female and juvenile detainees must be housed in other facilities. Currently there is a plan to construct an addition to the Justice Center – to begin construction in the summer of 2023. Some people say the new age design does not fit in with the rural nature of the county. All visits must be scheduled 24 hours in advance. The current facility only holds 8 inmates with others having to be housed in other counties where there is room.
The 8-bed Graham County Jail is responsible for the housing and care of those who are accused or convicted of committing a misdemeanor or felony in Graham County as they wait for their trial or as they serve their sentence, usually less than one year.
It serves many law enforcement organizations including the Sheriff’s Department, local police, Immigration, and other surrounding counties as needed.
