Built in 2001, the 70-bed Davie County Detention Center is a medium security jail that houses all adult offenders, male and female, who are facing misdemeanor or felony charges in {county_extended]. As a pretrial facility only those who have not yet had their trial or who are waiting for a transfer are held here.

The brick building is surrounded by high fences and includes both indoor and outdoor recreation space.

A nurse and counselor are both on staff to ensure that all medical and mental health needs are met, and staff focus on providing a safe environment that supports inmates in their growth.
