It provides a safe location for inmates to be incarcerated and treats every individual with respect, responsibility, and honesty. Several different services and functions exist in the area, including a medical division, food services, laundry services, corrections officers, jail cooks, and programs to treat addictions and some educational opportunities that can help to improve employment prospects after the sentence has been completed. Inmates are also able to exchange mail with friends and families, to call them during their day hours depending upon their housing unit, and with visits both in person and via remote video.

  • Visitors may only schedule a visit for themselves. You will not be allowed to schedule another visitor to see an inmate.

  • Only two people can visit with an inmate at one time.

What is the Cost of a Remote Video Visit?
Costs vary and are subject to change, but generally visits range from $5.00 to $15.00 for a 15 to 30 minute online or on-site video visit.

How do you know if your Inmate will be available during the time you schedule?
The Securus system knows the times that Ontario County Jail inmates are available for remote video visits.
It will not allow you to schedule a visit with your inmate if they are not available or the video visitation kiosk(s) in the jail are booked already.

The Ontario County Jail allows inmates to receive pre-metered postcards like the type purchased from the post office. They may also allow certain photo postcards as long as they have not been tampered with or contain images that may be considered to be obscene or violent in nature. The Ontario County Jail allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as AmazonBarnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
Books must NOT contain images or content that are considered excessively violent, pornographic or obscene. Any book that does not meet the Ontario County Jail standards will be disposed of.

Ontario County Jail now offers Securus 'SecureView' Tablet Rentals to their inmates.


  
Securus is the same company that handles the inmate phone system, video visitations, email and texting and digital letters.

The tablets can be rented on a monthly basis and while not directly connected to the internet, the inmates can use them for the following activities:

  • Phone Calls - Inmates may make calls directly from their tablet allowing for more privacy. The rates are the same as the phones in the unit, and the calls are still recorded and monitored.
  • eMessaging - Communicate via a text based message or picture. Fee based system.
  • Job Search - Using JobView, a secure job search application, inmates have the ability to see what jobs are available when they are released.
