About the Onondaga County Justice Center

Onondaga County is the home of the Patrick J Corbett Justice Center, also called the Onondaga County Justice Center, the main housing and holding facility for the county. An alternative facility, Jamesville Correctional, is used to house pretrial detainees and those who are awaiting their sentencing.

Onondaga County Justice Center is a direct supervision facility and offers maximum security to accommodate all inmates. In direct supervision each housing unit will have officers present in the unit, where they are able to interact with inmates on an ongoing basis and respond to any potential incidents as they begin.

The building was originally created to house pretrial individuals and to accept those who are arrested from other law enforcement agencies; the building broke ground in 1992, and opened in 1995. It consists of touchscreen controls for all of the doors, intercoms, and 160 security cameras throughout the facility.

Within each housing facility there is a portable telephone, video visitation is provided, and there is an x-ray for the belongings of any individual entering the facility.

There are several programs available for the inmates to assist with improved education and other skills, including office skills, life management, basic education, art classes, food service, and parenting classes among others.

Inmate Accounts: friends and family can fund an inmate’s account at the window in the front lobby Monday to Friday 10am-12pm, 5pm-7pm, or at the lobby kiosk from 7:30am until 10:30pm every day of the week. Deposits can also be made online.

Mail can be delivered to the center and responded too, provided it includes the following: Inmate Name, Inmate Control Number (ICN)

Inmate's Full Name & Inmate Control Number (ICN)
