Upon arrival a detailed screening and classification is conducted to ensure that all their medical and mental health needs are met, and that they are placed in an appropriate housing assignment to meet their security needs as well as keep those who are arrested and charged in the same incident separated. Strict rules and regulations are in place to ensure that the building remains safe, that all meals are balanced and provided on time, and that there is access to necessary health care, recreational opportunities, substance abuse treatments, and socializing. Contact with friends and family is key to the successful reintegration into society after incarceration and is encouraged through the use of mail via the US Postal Service, outgoing phone calls, and visitation.
