About the Lincoln County Detention Center
The Lincoln County Detention Center is an advanced location with a smooth concrete exterior and the traditional small windows that denote where cells are location. There is a large yard fenced in around it that allows for outdoor recreation and exercise in addition to the inside recreation and exercise spaces. The facility is operated by a private corporation that is owned by veterans and works as a for profit facility. It has space for 148 beds and can hold that many adult inmates at any one time. It houses inmates who are waiting for their sentence to be announced or who have received a short sentence of under one year. Any sentence that is over a year will be transferred to the local state penitentiary. To provide the best chance of rehabilitation there are several programs in place, including phone calls to friends and family, visits once each week on the approved visiting days, and access to send and receive mail. Each of these methods of contact improve the mindset of the inmates as they are supported in their incarceration by their friends and family, and it can help to create a safer environment. During their stay there are also addictions treatments available, all meals are provided in a balanced diet, and there are some work opportunities for those inmates who qualify to assist with meal prep or laundry, or even maintenance both inside and outside of the facility.

The Lincoln County Detention Center allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as AmazonBarnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
