About the Hunterdon County Division of Corrections

In January 2020, The County of Hunterdon contracted with the Warren County Department of Corrections to house all Hunterdon County Inmates. This is a list of all of the people that have been arrested in Hunterdon County that are currently housed in Warren County.

Hunterdon County Jail is a temporary site that allows detainees to be processed, and the Hunterdon Division of Corrections operates alternate incarceration programs. The housing of all inmates, however, has been contracted to Warren County Corrections. All inmates will be transported to the Warren County facility upon their arrest or after they are booked into the original facility and provided with their bail expectations. Once they have arrived at the alternative facility they will have access to all programs and services that are provided within.

Alternate Incarceration Programs include the Home Detention Program in which offenders serve their sentence at home and report to the facility to check in weekly, with their location being monitored with a GPS system, and the Sheriff’s Labor Assistance Program which allows offenders to serve their sentence by providing services and working for the Sheriff’s Office. In each of these programs’ offenders reside at their own home and report to the jail either daily for their work assignments or weekly for their ankle monitor to be checked and any updates or adjustments made. Their location is tracked and they are able to go only to certain places and must be home by a set time.

Once an inmate arrives at Warren County Jail they will have access to telephones from 7am each day until 11pm nightly, with short periods of inaccessibility during meals and head counts. This allows for inmates to remain in contact with lawyers, family members, and friends throughout their incarceration. Calls are permitted only to those numbers that have been provided to the facility during their intake and have been approved by the staff. Visits are also permitted during the approved visiting hours, which can be obtained by calling 908-475-7900 and are arranged by housing unit. Contact visits may resume and will be Saturday and Sunday only from 12:15pm to 12:45pm.
