Wright County Juvenile Information

The Wright County Juvenile Office handles all of the cases of juvenile court in Wright County. From this office the juveniles parole, probation, detention, and diversion programs are all operated. A diveresion program is in place to deter youth from the detention centers by providing alternative consequences and actions. This includes home monitoring for serving a sentence at home allowing them to attend their regular school and some school related events. It also manages any drug or alcohol testing that is required for probation purposes, and will ensure that juveniles are following the restrictions of their release throughout their time in the juvenile justice system. For those youth who are determined to require detention to ensure they appear at court dates, due to a concern of them being a risk to themselves or to others in the community, or if they are adjudicated to the facility for a set period of time, they will be held at the local juvenile detention facility. During any stay at a detention center they will be provided not only with the basics of education, clothing, shelter, and food, but also programming to address substance abuse, life skills, social skills, recreation time, time for a full night rest, and physical education along with programs for anger management, parenting, or financial management. Mail: Mail is provided for all juveniles in detention throughout the state, provided it is delivered via the postal system with a full return address and name of the sender. Phones: Youth who are arrested will be provided with a phone call directly after they are processed when they will be able to call a parent, guardian, or legal representation. Visitation: Parents or guardians may visit their youth during approved times only.
