Although the address is on Green Street in Centerville, Missouri, which is the location of the county courthouse, the actual jail facility, along with the county sheriff's office, is behind the courthouse on Missouri Highway 21.

Reynolds County Jail made the news in the summer of 2024 when two county staff members, both woman, were accused of inappropriate sexual contact with an inmate at the Reynolds County Jail. Both are being held in jails other than this one for obvious reasons.
