About the Randolph County Jail

Located on the highway at the back of the Randolph County courthouse and sheriff's office, the 99-bed Randolph County Jail houses all of the detainees arrested in the county either on misdemeanor offences or on felonies, and holds them until they are released on bail, have their trial, or are being transferred to another location for serving their sentence. Most of the detainees will be released in a few days on bail or promise to appear while others will remain up to almost a full year.

While the front of the building includes two stories of large, square windows and a welcoming lobby for the courthouse, the jail behind is nearly windowless, plain brick, and includes a sally port for transporting inmates and a smaller entrance for other uses.

Privacy protects some information, but their bail and how to pay that bail, along with other procedures including phones and visiting will be provided by staff.

There are kiosks located in the lobby which allow for adding money to the account of an inmate, to add money to their phone accounts or for video visits, and a place to pay bail and check in for visits.

There are healthy meals provided three times each day, and inmates are provided with jail clothing that is washed regularly, along with access to medical care around the clock and ongoing care for other medical needs. Mental health support is available, and all inmates will have access to recreational time, time for social interactions, and mail, phone calls, and visits.

Fenced outdoor space provides access to outdoor recreation, and commissary allows for the purchase of snacks, clothing, drinks, hygiene items, and others. Only outgoing calls are available from the housing units, and they will be made collect or from a prepaid phone account or prepaid phone cards from the commissary.

Inmate Money Accounts

How Do You Deposit Money for an Inmate in the Randolph County Jail?

There are FOUR options for putting money on an inmate's books:

Option 1 - Dropping Money at the Jail
Bring money to the jail in person.
Either the jail personnel will process the Inmate Account payment or you will use a Jail ATM self-serve kiosk in the lobbies that accepts cash, debit or credit cards.

Option 2 - Deposit Inmate Money Online
Randolph County Jail uses Jail ATM to process all online deposits to an inmate's account. The company charges you a small fee for doing so, but the fee probably isn't as much as gas and parking would cost to take it to the jail in person.

Option 3 - Mail the Inmate Deposit to the Jail
Mailing a deposit takes more time to process than the other methods but can be done if you live too far away to bring it in person and you don't have a debit/credit card for online deposits. Never send cash. Always send a Money Order from the US Post Office, a reputable bank or Western Union. Call the Randolph County Jail first as they may want you to do this online or at the jail kiosk instead.
Make the Money Order out to the inmate's name and put their Inmate ID# in memo section of the Money Order.
