Located on the highway at the back of the Randolph County courthouse and sheriff's office, the 99-bed Randolph County Jail houses all of the detainees arrested in the county either on misdemeanor offences or on felonies, and holds them until they are released on bail, have their trial, or are being transferred to another location for serving their sentence. Most of the detainees will be released in a few days on bail or promise to appear while others will remain up to almost a full year.
While the front of the building includes two stories of large, square windows and a welcoming lobby for the courthouse, the jail behind is nearly windowless, plain brick, and includes a sally port for transporting inmates and a smaller entrance for other uses.
There are two ways to determine if someone is being held at the Randolph County Jail, by either accessing the online roster or calling the jail at 844-277-6555 with the name, birthdate, and any other identifying information.
