Scott County juveniles hwo are arrested or committed to a detention facility will be housed at the East Central Regional Juvenile Center. It offers full services to juveniles from any of the counties and communities who access it. Along with basic needs such as a room for sleeping and preparing, bathrooms for daily showers and hygiene, food services to provide well rounded meals and care for the nutritional needs of each of the juveniles, and academic education, they will also receive medical and dental care as well as mental health care including therapy or counseling as needed. Life skills are focused on throughout their stay, including responsibility, accountability, and discipline. A strict schedule is followed, which includes time for rest, recreational activities, physical education and opportunities for sports and group activities. By practicing positive social interactions, juveniles will leave the facility better suited and more prepared for a return to their community. A wide range of programs are offered, including substance abuse treatments, trauma informed counseling, family counseling, and several life skills.   • All visitors must be a legal guardian or on a list approved by the referring agent.
  • All visits need to be set up with staff prior to arrival. Please call to schedule your appointment. 
  • Legal Guardians have the right to an initial visit anytime. After that, visiting hours will apply.
  • All visitors will be required to show proper photo identification and will be required to sign into the visitor log.
  • NO cell phones, food or beverages may be brought into the facility.
  • Visits are limited to 1 hour in length.
  • Visits may be monitored by facility staff and may be terminated at staff discretion for not following visiting rules.
  • Please note: Visiting times are subject to change without notice.
  • Alternative visitation times will be considered for families who are unable to visit during normal visitation hours.

News, special interest or sports magazines may also be mailed to an inmate as long as they are shipped directly from the publisher. Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.

Books
The Scott County Juvenile Detention Center allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as AmazonBarnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
Books must NOT contain images or content that are considered excessively violent, pornographic or obscene. Any book that does not meet the Scott County Juvenile Detention Center standards will be disposed of.
