⇓ Learn more ⇓ Show lessOperated by the Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office to house their offenders, both misdemeanor and felony charges, the 32-bed Fillmore County Jail provides all care and control of the offenders as they wait for bail, trial, or short sentences which will see them at the facility for under one year. The building stretches long and low, providing housing units to separate inmates based upon gender, charges and the seriousness of each charge, past behavior during any prior incarceration, and other factors.
To determine the bail of an offender, their location, and other pertinent details an online roster is maintained and staff are able to answer questions regarding bonds and other concerns when you call them at 507-765-3874.
A work release program is available at this jail if it is part of the sentencing, and this allows offenders to keep their jobs and to keep working while still serving their sentence at night and days off.
All offenders are provided with medical care for either ongoing illness or emergency, along with any other medical needs, and mental health treatments and services are provided whenever necessary.
There will be additional needs and wants for personal use during incarceration, and this can be supported through depositing money to inmate accounts either through the mail or by accessing the lobby, or the online portal.

Phone calls are also available, and while the phone banks in the housing units are unable to accepting incoming calls there is a message line that can be accessed 507-556-1441.

Visiting hours are provided on Tuesday and Thursday 12:30pm-4:30pm, and 7:00pm-9:00pm, and only those with picture ID will be admitted to visit.

Magazines
News, special interest or sports magazines may also be mailed to an inmate as long as they are shipped directly from the publisher. Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.
Books
The Fillmore County Jail allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
Books must NOT contain images or content that are considered excessively violent, pornographic or obscene. Any book that does not meet the Fillmore County Jail standards will be disposed of.
