A rewards and consequences system is used to reward positive behaviors and choices and to redirect from negative choices that affect others. Medical staff and dentists attend the facility to provide needed care for the residents, and they will also receive balanced meals, recreation time, and physical education. During their assigned chores they are able to earn additional privileges, and residents are assigned to housing units based upon their age, gender, and history of detention, providing them with a group to attend class with, interact with on a daily basis, and practice social skills.
