Located within city limits, the 104-bed is found on the back of the county courthouse, and the campus also includes the Roscommon County Sheriff's Office. Parking is provided for staff, visitors, and those who are accessing the courthouse, and the shared space allows for easy and safe transportation of inmates to and from court dates.

A inmate roster is maintained online for access to a full list of inmates, newly arrested or released, and their status and any concerns about an inmate or their health, or to ask specific questions on procedures, the staff are available by calling 989-275-9070.

Bail can be paid at the jail itself or a bail bondsman may be contacted, while those who do not qualify for bail or are not able to have it paid, will remain in the facility until their trial and anyone who has been sentenced will stay until they are transferred, or their sentence is complete. For those who do not make bail there will be healthy meals three times each day, clean laundry every week, access to medical care whenever needed, and mental health care to assist in reducing recidivism and supporting a safer environment in the jail.

Inmate Money Accounts

How Do You Deposit Money for an Inmate in the Roscommon County Jail?

There are FOUR options for putting money on an inmate's books:

Option 1 - Dropping Money at the Jail
Bring money to the jail in person.
Either the jail personnel will process the Inmate Account payment or you will use a Jail ATM self-serve kiosk in the lobbies that accepts cash, debit or credit cards.

Option 2 - Deposit Inmate Money Online
Roscommon County Jail uses Jail ATM to process all online deposits to an inmate's account. The company charges you a small fee for doing so, but the fee probably isn't as much as gas and parking would cost to take it to the jail in person.

Option 3 - Mail the Inmate Deposit to the Jail
Mailing a deposit takes more time to process than the other methods but can be done if you live too far away to bring it in person and you don't have a debit/credit card for online deposits. Never send cash. Always send a Money Order from the US Post Office, a reputable bank or Western Union. Call the Roscommon County Jail first as they may want you to do this online or at the jail kiosk instead.
Make the Money Order out to the inmate's name and put their Inmate ID# in memo section of the Money Order.
