Marquette County Youth Home Information

With 12 beds for youth who are part of the juvenile justice system, the Marquette County Youth Home allows for the safe and secure housing for treatment or rehabilitation. All staff are fully trained and receive ongoing training each year, and they are fully staffed around the clock. Most of the youth here are waiting for their hearing, are in transition, or are waiting for an out of home placement and are in the location for under 30 days. It operates on the idea of housing and supporting youth rather than working as a facility for punishing juveniles. As a part of the Circuit Court, Family Division this is just one part of the programs offered to support youth and families, and works in conjunction with in home detention, probation, foster care, and a hold over site that is at a different location and provides temporary housing for violent or dangerous juveniles. At the youth home the staff to resident ratio is maintained at 4 to 6 residents per staff member to ensure safety, security, and proper care. Full care is provided including medical care and necessary mental health support, along with meals, recreational time, and other programs that are offered through the court system. Magazines
News, special interest or sports magazines may also be mailed to an inmate as long as they are shipped directly from the publisher. Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.

Books
The Marquette County Youth Home allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as AmazonBarnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
Books must NOT contain images or content that are considered excessively violent, pornographic or obscene. Any book that does not meet the Marquette County Youth Home standards will be disposed of.
