However, of those 630 beds, only about half are used for locally arrested offenders, as Calhoun County rents out the other half to ICE for detaining illegal immigrants who are pending deportation for illegal activities, and offenders from neighboring countuies who need the overflow beds that Calhoun County offers them. The county brings in over $8 million in revenue every year for renting the beds.
The Calhoun County Correctional Facility was built in 1994 replacing the old jail (it was torn down in 2016) which was built in 1954.

• Clothing must cover all private/sensitive body areas.
