Bay County Juvenile Home Information

This 29 bed coed facility provides secure and safe housing for juveniles who are at least 10 years old with special circumstances or 13 years old for regular occurrences but are not over the age of 17. Adults who are aged 18 or older are assigned to the local adult facility. As there are both male and female juveniles in the facility, they will be kept separate at all times during detention. Temporary care is provided, and those who are in their care are there due to court order, waiting to be transferred to another location, or who are waiting to hear their disposition. Only those under court order will be admitted, and out of county juveniles may be accepted if there is space needed by other counties. While under around the clock supervision, they will receive a medical assessment and all of their medical care will be provided, along with dental care, shelter, food, clothing, and emergency care as needed. Social and emotional needs are also provided for, with activities, academics, life skills, and more being taught through several learning opportunities.
