This coed facility houses both male and female juveniles who are between the ages of 10 and 17 and have pending court action or are waiting for transfer to another location. It is a short term facility that holds only 22 residents at one time, providing them with a safe and secure facility while also protecting the safety of the surrounding community. Several programs are offered including school through the Outlook Academy and focus on individual needs, core academics, GED testing, and educational testing for those who are under court order. Each day there are structured schedules that include school, life skills, hygiene, physical recreation, and a book club. Following the schedule will help to develop discipline and responsibility while engagement with the program will help to prepare the residents for their future outside of the facility, reduce the likelihood of reoffending, and improve grades, coping skills, and confidence. Additional services including a full medical screening and all needed treatments, Prime for Life Groups, mental health classes and support, religious education for those who are interested, pre-employment skills to prepare youth for finding and holding jobs, and music therapy.
