There are two other locations that function as an intake and booking facility (Montgomery County Detention Center), and the other is a pre-release and re-entry facility (Montgomery County Pre-Release and Reentry Services).
The Montgomery County Correctional Facility operates around the clock and accepts admissions whenever necessary, and they provide for all of the basic needs and care for inmates during their detention, as well as providing access to educational programs, treatments, mental health care, medical care, and support programs to ease their re-entry to the community after their release.
The County Correctional Facility houses up to 1028 inmates at any time, and they will be either pre-trial and waiting for their court appearances or serving a sentence that is 18 months or less. They will arrive at this location only after having been assessed as they are processed through the MCDC, and upon arrival at the correctional facility an interview is conducted to determine eligibility for programs and classes that will be the best fit for them as they prepare for their life after incarceration.
A learning center is provided for GED, anger management, improving decision making, gaining life skills, creating a budget and parenting, conflict resolution, reentry tablets that contain a wealth of educational information and sources on how to reenter society, and many others.
Ongoing adult education has been shows to reduce recidivism, as is contact with family and friends, and a positive environment where staff and inmates are all working towards personal growth for all inmates.
Visits are provided regularly and can be scheduled by creating an account on ICSOlutions. Visiting hours are Sunday-Saturday (7 Days/Week) : 8am-11am, 1pm-4pm, 6pm-9pm and will be organized by housing assignment with each inmate getting one 30 minute visit on the day that is assigned to them.
