The Harford County Detention Center in Maryland has a capacity of 762 beds. The facility was originally built in 1973 with a capacity of 100 inmates, but alterations and additions were made over the years to increase its capacity. It underwent a major expansion in 2011, increasing its capacity.

The Harford County Detention Center is located at 1030 Rock Spring Road, Bel Air, MD 21014. The contact number for the center is 410-638-3140.

The Harford County Detention Center in Maryland holds inmate visitations on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Visitors are not accepted after 30 minutes before the end of each visiting session. Inmates are allowed one to two visits of 30 minutes each at the facility, and potentially no limit on the number of visits when possible. The facility permits inmates to receive social visits from 7:30 am to 9:00 pm on weekdays, and 7:30 am to 2:30 pm on weekends.

The Harford County Detention Center ONLY allows inmates to receive pre-metered postcards like the type purchased from the post office. They may also allow certain photo postcards as long as they have not been tampered with or contain images that may be considered to be obscene or violent in nature. It is best to only use blue or black ink. Always include your name and return address.
