About the Somerset County Jail

The Somerset County Jail in Somerset County is the detention facility for all of the offenders arrested on misdemeanors and felonies where they will wait for their trial or serve a short sentence.  Federal inmates and those arrested in Waldo County are also housed at this location.  The top capacity of 234 leaves room for growth from the currently used 192 as the community grows.

Several programs are provided including medical care, mental health care, substance abuse treatments, a law library, a recreational library, access to recreational and exercise areas, full meals, laundry, clothing and bedding, and educational opportunities.

Bail can be paid only in cash at the Somerset County Jail and upon approval of the supervisor some inmates may be able to pay their own bail.

How do you know if your Inmate will be available during the time you schedule?
