With 38 beds and a kitchen and laundry that are prepared for more, the facility offers housing to all juveniles who are waiting for trial, are in trial, are waiting for their sentence, or have been sentenced to detention. It has a new, state of the art, 50,000 square foot building offers the most advanced in security measures and updated technology. It has a focus on rehabilitating youth and providing them with the skill and knowledge that they will need to make healthy decisions, take responsibility for their actions, create healthy relationships, and be productive members of their community. To ensure that there are the best chances of success for all rehabilitation efforts, the parents are able to be engaged and supportive through visits, mail, phone calls, participation in family basedd programs, access additional resources, and receive regular updates on the progress being made. Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.

Books
The NW Louisiana Juvenile Detention Center allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as AmazonBarnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
