Working with families to provide all the tools and services for juveniles who require additional care, who are being arrested and held on a warrant, who are arrested after committing a delinquent act, or are held on the order of the court after adjudication. While they are within the detention facility, they will be provided with healthy meals that follow the food guidelines, classes provided to match the local schools including high school classes and testing, assessments for mental health care and educational needs. Counseling is provided along with anger management, behavioral programs, and medical or dental care. Housing pods are around 10-12 people in each, allowing them to operate as small communities with the facility and to create new bonds, engage in activities, and practice interactions. The location is designed to mimic a home or school rather than a jail, to provide comfort and a positive environment for personal development and growth. All students are expected to participate actively in the programs that are set up for them and included throughout their day. Opportunities for physical education and recreational activities are provided throughout the week, as well as phone calls to parents and weekly visits.
