With a maximum capacity of nearly 1,200 beds, the location has a booking and intake area, medical unit, commissary, and provides a visitation area that is located at an alternative location.
The offsite visitation center is at 2211 Barataria Blvd, Suite 110 Marrero, LA, and allows for those who do not have access to a phone or home computer to still visit their loved ones in Jefferson Parish Correctional Center. This is completed by signing up online and then booking a time to visit either online at home or at the visitation center.
Visiting hours at the visitation center are Monday through Sunday 8:30am-1:30pm and 3pm-9pm and offsite 9am-1pm, 3pm-5pm, and 6pm-9pm with remote visits being $12.99 for a 20 minute visit.
Between visits inmates will be able to access phones in the housing units to make outgoing calls only, to people who have created accounts or if they have a funded account.

Another way to provide support to an inmate is to fund their commissary so they can access snacks, hygiene items, and recreational items.
Programs are in place to provide all necessary medical care and mental health support including providing medication and treating illness or injury, support groups, counseling, and dental care.
Education is provided to improve life and social skills and to ensure that each of the inmates has a basic education before they leave the facility, along with some employable skills that will help them to build a productive and comfortable future after incarceration.

Video Visitation allows 'approved' friends, family members, attorneys and clergy of an inmate to connect with them using their computer, Securus Video Visitation app, or ‘on-site’ kiosk.

Costs vary and are subject to change, but generally visits range from $5.00 to $15.00 for a 15 to 30 minute online or on-site video visit.
How do you know if your Inmate will be available during the time you schedule?

Newspapers are NOT allowed.
Magazines
News, special interest or sports magazines may also be mailed to an inmate as long as they are shipped directly from the publisher. Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.
Books
The Jefferson Parish Correctional Center allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address above.
Books must NOT contain images or content that are considered excessively violent, pornographic or obscene. Any book that does not meet the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center standards will be disposed of. No more than four books may be shipped at any one time.
