About the Beauregard Parish Jail

The small plain beige building that houses the Beauregard Parish Jail has a large parking area for both staff and visitors alike, and it stands outside of town where there is large amounts of empty space surrounding it.

With a top capacity of 161 beds for both male and female offenders facing felony or misdemeanor charges, the Beauregard Parish Jail is the main housing location for all Beauregard Parish offenders during both their awaiting trial, as well as during a short sentence of less than two years.

Staff and programs focus on rehabilitation rather than punishment and there are many life skills, education, coping skills, and tools for reintegration into their community.

Several departments are present within the building including the administration, security, support services, classification, transportation, and others.

All medical care is provided as needed and mental health services are available to all residents.

  • Visitors must have a current, valid photo identification (such as a driver's license) in order to visit.
  • All visitors, on their first visit, must complete a Visitor Information Form. They will then be checked to determine whether they have any outstanding warrants.
  • Visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is on the approved list, do not need to be listed on an approved visitation list themselves.
  • Each inmate is allowed one hour of visitation per week on their assigned day and time. You must check with your inmate for this date and time.
  • Requests for exceptions and special requests must be forwarded through a Corrections Officer to a Shift Supervisor for approval.
  • A Shift Supervisor may extend visits by reason of distance traveled, past infrequent visits, or other reason.
