About the Oldham County Jail

Stretching in all directions from the large glass entrance, the 330-bed Oldham County Jail is a low brick building in LaGrange, Kentucky that houses all of the offenders throughout Oldham County.

They provide for all basic needs during any length of incarceration at Oldham County Jail, from the 24 hour a day medical staff to the healthy meals, laundry and cleaning, mental health support, and access to communications and support from loved ones who are not incarcerated.

Several programs are designed and implemented to support all rehabilitation efforts or personal growth by the detainees.

They may access the GED program, AA/NA sessions, religious services three days each week, a law library is accessible through tablets, work detail allows for qualified inmates to do work tasks and jobs inside the facility while work release allows for jobs outside of the campus, and the home incarceration program which allows offenders to serve their sentence at home with a tracking anklet.

Family and friends may support inmates through funding their commissary account at the kiosk in the lobby or online.

Inmates may access phones during recreation or free time, and these can be funded or accessed through the lobby kiosk or online.

  • Proper attire is required. No low-cut blouses, tank tops, short skirts or dresses, tight shorts, hats or any other form of provocative dress will be allowed. Shirt and shoes must be worn.
  • All visitors must provide proper state or government issued photo identification (i.e. driver’s license, foreign id or passports) for inmate visitation.
  • On Site video visitation is available at no cost.
  • A video visit lasts 40 minutes. Each inmate is allowed two visits per week.
  • Visitors may only use this system on the inmates assigned visitation day, whenever the inmates have free time.
  • All rules set forth for non-contact visitation shall be adhered to when using the video visitation system.
  • Any lewd, profane or inappropriate behavior shall result in loss of video visitation privileges for the visitor and/or inmate.
  • Each inmate is permitted a maximum of three on site visitors per session.
