⇓ Learn more ⇓ Show lessOperating under the management of the Nelson County Sheriff Office the 102-bed Nelson County Jail is the main housing unit for all offenders who are arrested within the county on misdemeanor or felony charges and holds them until they have their trial or as they serve a short sentence of less than one year. The one story, light brown brick building is located on the corner of W. Broadway and US-62 in Bardstown, Kentucky.
An updated list of inmates and their bond details is maintained online and the staff are able to answer some questions in regards to inmates but also bail procedures, visitation, and other concerns by calling 502-348-1860.
During their incarceration at Nelson County Jail inmates are provided with meals, recreation space, activities, classes for GED, moral reconation therapy, work programs and programming to prepare them for their life after incarceration.

The Nelson County Jail allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
