The jail also has a work program for classified inmates to work in the community. The facility provides reintegration programming and health services to inmates. To schedule a visit for Sunday or Wednesday, you must call on Saturdays from 8am - 12pm. Agents are available to schedule visits Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM - 12:00 midnight EST, and Saturdays from 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM. On-site visitation and remote visitation are both available, and each inmate is permitted one hour of free site visitation. Visits can occur all week between 7:30 AM and 9:00 PM, and inmates are allowed two 45-minute onsite video visits each week.
The Calloway County Jail in Kentucky is a medium-security detention center that houses state and county inmates. It was constructed in 1996, and in addition to the main jail, it has a 34-bed workhouse. The jail is operated locally by the Calloway County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. The facility contracts with West Kentucky Correctional Health. The jail's mission is to protect the public by incarcerating inmates pursuant to court order while providing employees and inmates a safe environment.

Medical Fees

Nurse Visits - Charges will be determined by medical staff or Jailer on a case by case basis.
Upon release any money on an inmate account will be applied to fees owed.
Inmates released from custody owing money may sign a billing agreement and pay accordingly or be subject to civil or contempt action.

The Calloway County Jail allows inmates to receive pre-metered postcards like the type purchased from the post office. They may also allow certain photo postcards as long as they have not been tampered with or contain images that may be considered to be obscene or violent in nature. It is best to only use blue or black ink. Always include your name and return address.
Envelopes
The Calloway County Jail also allows envelopes to be mailed to inmates. It is best to only use blue or black ink. No drawings or stickers.
Pictures are the only enclosures permitted to be mailed to inmates.
Each inmate is allowed up to 10 photographs per package, but these MUST be printed on photo paper.
Printouts from the internet, colored pages, and provocative material (i) are not permitted and will be destroyed.
Provocative is generally defined as follows: "Causing annoyance, anger, or another strong reaction” or “arousing sexual desire or interest.”

Newspapers may also be mailed to an inmate as long as they are shipped directly from the publisher.
Magazines
News, special interest or sports magazines may also be mailed to an inmate as long as they are shipped directly from the publisher. Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.
Books
The Calloway County Jail allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
Books must NOT contain images or content that are considered excessively violent, pornographic or obscene. Any book that does not meet the Calloway County Jail standards will be disposed of.
Hard cover books will not be accepted by the jail due to their potential to be used as a weapon.
