The building includes a kitchen with a full kitchen staff to provide fresh and healthy meals three times each day, a nurse for medical concerns and access to a doctor as needed, recreational space and activities for education, socialization, recreation, and rehabilitation.

The Riley County Jail uses direct supervision to provide the best chance of recidivism, easier reintegration, and fast responses to any potential incidents that may occur. With direct supervision an officer is present within the housing units, and it improves the sense of community and improves interactions while reducing violence and other concerns.
Programs and counceling are also in place, with church services and bible study for those who choose to attend, Living on the Outside, AA programs, and others will address the reentry process as well as provide skills and knowledge that will assist inmates in rebuilding their life outside of incarceration and move forward as a productive member of society.
Inmates are able to make outgoing calls, however they may not receive messages or calls, but through the use of a tablet program they are able to receive emails and other messages.
Visits are also provided onsite and in person on Wednesdays from 7pm to 9pm, and via video through the kiosk in the lobby Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. To have visits from home access to schedule and engage in a visit during daytime hours from after breakfast until lights out at night. Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.
