North Central Kansas Regional Juvenile Detention Facility Information

The North Central Kansas Regional Juvenile Detention Facility houses up to 28 youth, both male and female, who are being held for their court date or who are serving a sentence which may be over a year long. Unlike short term facilities that only house juveniles for a few days or weeks, this facility is capable of longer sentences and will take those from smaller facilities who are sentenced to sentences that last a few months. Only juveniles are at the facility, many under 16 years of age, and some of whom have committed what would be considered a felony for an adult. For this reason, the location offers a maximum level of security for juveniles to ensure the safety of each of the residents as well as the staff and any visitors. All of the meals are balanced to match the calorie intake for the day, and to meet the nutritional needs of the students. They will also be provided with time and supplies to care for their hygiene needs, space to exercise, recreation time, access to a library for books, and all other basic needs. Mail: 820 N Monroe Junction City, KS 66441 Phones: Juveniles are able to call their parents and guardians at least once a week but often more frequently. Only those who are approved to accept phone calls are permitted to be called. Visitation: Visiting hours are provided regularly and parents and guardians may visit, along with grandparents and any children of the juvenile may visit with a guardian present.
