It is here that all of the newly arrested offenders and those who are sentenced will remain on both misdemeanor and felony charges, with the majority being in the jail less than one year.
After being originally constructed in 1982, the brick building was expanded in the year 2000 to two sides of the building and now contains 220 beds in a mix of linear and direct supervision housing. It also contains a kitchen and full kitchen staff to meet the nutritional needs of inmates, a fulltime nurse and access to further medical care, dental care, and mental health care, recreation activities, laundry, and other services.
A trust account is created for each inmate that permits them to make orders and access other items that they need or want, and this can be funded by their friends and family outside of the jail, either online or at the kiosk in the lobby.
Visits may be 20 minutes in length, and they can be scheduled directly by the inmate with their visitor. Access visits either at the kiosk in the lobby or from home. Visiting hours are the same every day and run 8am to 10:30pm with the last visit starting at 10pm.
