The Daviess County Security Center contains both the Sheriff’s Office and the Jail, and the large red brick and concrete building covers a city block with a fenced yard for recreation, ample parking, and an easily located lobby area welcoming visitors with large glass windows that are not seen on the remainder of the building.
Within the building there are 6 holding cells, 2 drunk tanks, a padded cell, a work release center with an additional 52 beds, while the general population has a capacity of 260 inmates.

Both those who are arrested on felony charges, and those arrested on misdemeanor charges will be held at this location as they wait for their trial and as they serve their sentence, for all of Daviess County.
